Homeschool Offerings

ThornCreek Christian School partners with homeschool families to offer options for families to educate students in their own home.

Option 1 - Homeschool Athletics Only

This option is for homeschool students who wish to join our athletic teams and play ThornCreek Christian school sports. Students pay all athletic fees and receive the opportunity to try out for positions on each team*.

Option 2 - Homeschool Consortium

This option is for homeschool families who wish to teach all courses at home, yet want more social interaction for their children. Parents pay a Homeschool Consortium fee of $300 per student each year, which grants the opportunity for students to participate in all extracurricular activities, field-trips, and graduation activities (all additional fees apply). Parents must still meet the requirements for graduation as predetermined by TCS, and must submit completed report cards to the TCS school office on a quarterly basis. Students who meet TCS requirements for graduation have the opportunity to graduate with TCS students, and have their transcripts held with the school.

Option 3 - Homeschool “A la Carte”

This option is for homeschool families who wish to select certain classes to take on campus while the rest are taught at home. This may be combined with the Consortium (see option 2 above) in which parents pay a Homeschool Consortium fee of $300 per student each year, which grants the opportunity for students to participate in all extracurricular activities, field-trips, and graduation activities (all additional fees apply), or can be used independently on a “per class” basis. Courses in the Homeschool “A la Carte” option cost $1000 per course, per student per year, with a $100 textbook and materials fee. Students who meet TCS requirements for graduation have the opportunity to graduate with TCS students, and have their transcripts held with the school.

Option 4 - Homeschool Consortium and Complete Curriculum Package

This option is for homeschool families who choose to participate in our Bob Jones University Online partnership by taking an entire year of courses online and still participate with TCS extracurriculars after school. For a consortium fee of $300, and a tuition fee of just $2000 per child per year, students receive all coursework, instruction, and textbooks through the BJU online portal and receive the opportunity to participate in all TCS extracurricular activities, field-trips, and graduation activities (all additional fees apply).

COMING SOON Option 5 - TCS Online Courses

This option allows students to take courses online in a face-to-face classroom with a TCS teacher through our own online portal. Students interact with their teacher and fellow online students during a predetermined time each day, and participate in their classes in a manner similar to a traditional class. This may be combined with the Consortium (see option 2 above) in which parents pay a Homeschool Consortium fee of $300 per student each year, which grants the opportunity for students to participate in all extracurricular activities, field-trips, and graduation activities (all additional fees apply), or can be used independently on a “per class” basis. Under this option, students would be required to meet individually with their teacher via Google Hangouts, phone call, or in person once per month. Courses in the “ TCS Online Course” option cost $1500 per student per year, with a $150 textbook and materials fee.
