Christian Minded Coaching

Divider text here
All our teams are coached with the mind set that we are ambassadors of Christ, competing aggressively in the sport. We strive to honor God by our ATTITUDE and EFFORT, on and off the court. Competing for Christ does not imply soft, casual competition without regard for success, accomplishment, or victory. On the contrary, the best way to honor our Lord is to compete in His name with every ounce of our being, steadily focused on outperforming our opponent in each contest.

We honor Him in a win or a loss – by the manner in which we compete. We will, however, remain steadfastly focused on winning each contest, and leveraging everything the Lord has blessed us with to that end. We will never hold back our effort, and we will never compromise our attitude.

Our high school began in 1998 as a member of the Front Range Christian Activities Association. As we grew and added more students to our high school, we were able to join CHSAA (Colorado High School Activities Association) in 2003. This move allowed us to improve our program for both boys and girls varsity sports.

Many of our athletes have received sports scholarships to many prominent Universities and Colleges.

For those sports we do not offer, our students are allowed to play for other CHSAA schools. Our students compete in football, track, golf, tennis, hockey, swimming, softball, (any sport that we don’t offer), and do very well.

Our philosophy consists of helping each and every player on the team to realize their true potential and understand the effort it will take to maximize that potential.

We believe that Christ should always come first in sports. Win or lose, we are always an example to those on the court and in the stands. He believes that God gets and deserves ALL the glory ALL the time.

The volleyball team’s verse is Ecclesiastes 9:10a which states, "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might." They truly take this to heart, and this can be seen each time they take the court.

Our Varsity Baseball competes in the CHSAA 5280 League against other 1A schools. Our baseball team has consistently made it to post-season playoffs.

We have a very good relationship with several baseball organizations in the Denver area. The highlight for ThornCreek Christian School baseball so far has been making it to the state semi-final game in 2007. We had a great weekend in Pueblo at Runyon Field beating Dove Creek 2-1. We then lost to Eads in the semi-final game. Eads went on to win the championship game.

We have had one all-state player, Derek Cooper in 2007, and 2 honorable mention all state players, Tyler Marr in 2007, and Tyler Smith in 2009.

Soccer

ThornCreek Christian School Varsity Soccer competes through CHSAA’s 3A league. We compete in a higher class for soccer due to the fact that this is the lowest league in CHSAA. This brings us great challenges, but even though we face larger schools, we still remain competitive.
